Last week I slammed my tailbone on the hinge of a gym bench, coming up from a dumbbell bench press.
I couldn't walk. I couldn't lie down. I was hyperventilating. I was scared to use the bathroom. I've birthed three babies at home with no medication, and I don't remember pain like this in my whole life.
At the doctor, I was told I might need spinal surgery. They wanted me rushed by ambulance to a trauma hospital in San Antonio.
Then the CT came back. No fracture. No dislocated joints. No surgery. Just a badly bruised tailbone. The Lord healed me, and I'm so grateful.
I want to tell you what I did next, because it's how I handle every setback.
My first week:
150g of protein every single day
Lots of water
Magnesium glycinate, up to 4 a day
Heat for 20 minutes, about every hour I could
Real rest. Short walks. No driving until Saturday.
Colostrum, which I started the week before. Perfect timing.
Homeopathic hypericum and arnica around the clock
A peptide blend that showed up about 3 days after the injury BPC157, GHK, KPV, TB500
Why colostrum? It's the first milk, and it's packed with immune and growth factors like immunoglobulins and lactoferrin. These support your gut lining and your immune system. That mattered here. Pain meds with ibuprofen or naproxen can weaken your gut, and a weak gut means more inflammation. I wanted to protect mine.
What happened: I slept better. I wasn't constipated. My period started in the middle of it, and I wasn't wrecked. Less than a week later, I was back in the gym. Lighter weights, but I was doing hip thrusts and RDLs and hinging at my hips without pain. My doctor said six weeks.
I can't tell you which one thing did it. It was the whole stack, and a bruise heals faster than a fracture. I also went and got it checked. If you hurt yourself badly, please do the same.
Here's what I do know. When your body is already inflamed, healing takes longer. That's true for a tailbone. It's also true for the bloating, the puffiness, the brutal PMS, and the Hashimoto's that won't settle down. Your sleep, your food, your gut, and your mindset all shape how you heal.
You don't need to be restrictive. You need to take care of your body like it matters. It does.
I have a couple of 1:1 spots open right now. If you want to:
Lose weight
Get your inflammation under control
Stop feeling puffy
Get through PMS or PMDD
Finally get Hashimoto's under control
I'm here. I work with women of all ages, and I'll help you build a plan that fits you.
P.S. One-on-one isn't the right fit for everyone, and that's okay. Maybe you're not ready for labs yet. Maybe you just want to stop guessing and start taking care of your body in a way you can keep up for the long haul.
That's what Strong & Synced is for. It's group coaching built on the foundations: eating enough protein, sleeping better, lifting in a way that fits your hormones, and calming the inflammation that keeps you puffy, tired, and stuck. No labs required. You get a plan, and you don't have to figure it out alone.
I'm opening the doors right now. Reply to this blog or click the link below and I'll set up a quick discovery call to see if it's a good fit for you.
